SP THE SPECIALIST

Terrence “SP” Smith, a new and upcoming Hip Hop Producer always knew that making music was what he wanted to do. Growing up in North Long Beach, California music was a daily part of his life.

Producing since the age of 16, an Alesis Hr 16 Drum Machine was his first tool. Influenced by the likes of J. Dilla (R.I.P.), DJ Premier, Pete Rock, and a host of others that have paved the way, he has used his keen sense of sound in an effort to preserve this music called “Hip Hop” that has nurtured him into a man.

2010 Street Vinyl Music Producer Challenge!
Since the beginning of time, man has been creating music using only his hands and miscellaneous objects around them. Long before there were keyboards, electric guitars, drums, ProTools and MPCs, they utilized bowls, bones, bottles, washboards, and other random objects. From every corner of the world they made music by incorporating various sounds.
We’ve always stated that “A real producer can make a track using any sounds given to them”. This brings us to you and the 2010 Street Vinyl Music Producer Challenge. There are millions of talented men and women out there that consider themselves “Producers”. How many have what it takes to create a hit from nothing. This challenge is open to all amateur producers, no matter the genre! Using only the sounds provided and any drum kit you desire, to make a certified hit!
